The route leaves Lisboa near the Cathedral, crossing Alfama and the eastern neighborhoods of the city. It passes through narrow streets and viewpoints overlooking the Tagus river, continues by Campo de Santa Clara — home to the Feira da Ladra flea market — and proceeds through Xabregas, site of the former Madre de Deus Convent, now the National Tile Museum.

Further ahead, the path crosses the Beato and Marvila districts, once marked by factories, warehouses and noble estates. Many of these buildings have been restored and now host coffee shops, ateliers, galleries and creative hubs, bringing new life to an area with an industrial past.

Closer to the river, the route follows the Parque Ribeirinho do Oriente and enters Parque das Nações, an area built for the 1998 World Exposition. Highlights include the Oceanarium, the Pavilion of Knowledge and the Pavilion of Portugal, designed by architect Álvaro Siza Vieira.

The path then continues to Parque Tejo-Trancão, crossing wooden boardwalks near the Vasco da Gama Bridge, and ends in Sacavém, in the municipality of Loures, where green areas and support facilities connect this section to the rest of the route.
